I never know quite what to say when someone is grieving- be it a death, a miscarriage, a break-up, illness- all of the possible ways of putting my foot in it seem to swim before my eyes. But having had my fair share of all of the above, I know that it’s so much better if people let you know that they are thinking of you. Avoiding someone because you don’t want to hurt their feelings hurts their feelings.
